Opplev Malaga med EF

Livet i Malaga handler om kysten, men i tillegg til gylne strender finner du en by med elegant andalusisk arkitektur og gamle ruiner. Byen har en stemning som du forventer fra en by i Sør-Spania: livlig og full av sjarme. EFs aktivitetsledere kan gi informasjon om det beste hovedstaden på solkysten har å tilby.

Sightseeing og kultur

Begrav tærne i sanden, 5 minutter unna EF-skolen. Beundre arkitekturen i byens bakgater, og utforsk den mauriske arkitekturen i Gibralfaro og Alcazaba. Besøk huset der Pablo Picasso ble født, og se noen av hans mest kjente verk i Picasso-museet. Beundre den vakre Malaga-katedralen som ble oppreist der maurerens moské tidligere stod. Se en tyrefektingskamp på Malagas berømte tyrekfektingsarena, og besøk det ca 2000 år gamle romerske teatret.

Shopping

Fotgjengersonen i gamlebyen har små, uavhengige butikker som står i sterk kontrast til de elegante butikkvinduene i Calle Larios. Plaza Mayor er et moderne handlesenter med kjedebutikker.

Sport og utendørsliv

Tilbring ettermiddagen med å slappe av på den gylne sanden på La Malagueta-stranden, en kort spasertur fra byen. Dra til den verdensberømte botaniske hagen La Conception. Throughout the different neighbourhoods of Málaga, spectacular goings-on celebrate the Feast of St John (San Juan). The festival reaches a climax at midnight on 23 June, when large cloth figures known as júas are set on fire.

Malaga's fishing district pays homage to the Virgen del Carmen - her image is carried on a dais around the neighbourhood then placed on a flower-covered boat. Traditional song and dance accompanies the fleet as it then sails down the coast.

Every year the Nuestra Señora de la Victoria Pilgrimage in Málaga sees devotees travel on horseback or in richly decorated carts to the saint's sanctuary. On arrival a Mass is said, accompanied by a floral offering and typical Malaga folk music.
