Ordstilling
Vanlig ordstilling brukes i indirekte spørsmål, dvs subjektet står foran verbet, og det er ikke nødvendig å bruke 'do' eller 'did':

Spørreord
Disse type spørsmål gjengis ved å bruke 'ask' (eller et annet verb som ligner på 'ask') + spørreord + bisetning. Bisetningen inneholder spørsmålet, i vanlig ordstilling, og med den nødvendige endringen i tempus.
